Radio Iowa reported that Senator Tom Harkin and Congressman Bruce Braley introduced legislation that is designed to spur manufacturing jobs growth. By cutting taxes? Oh of course not, that would actually make sense. No they want more government spending, but here’s the kicker…
The bill would require the president to identify areas and emerging technologies in the U.S. where manufacturing could grow. It would also require the president to survey and compare manufacturing policies in the U.S. to those of other countries, and to recommend policies and actions to Congress to support American manufacturing.
The President would determine what industries the Federal government should “encourage.” Gee, what could possibly go wrong there?
