John Etheredge beat his Democrat opponent, Terry Dahms, 51% to 48% in last night’s County Supervisor election in Johnson County. He is the first Republican to serve on the board since 1962. RPI Chair A.J. Spiker made the following statement about last night’s victory.
“Congratulations to John Etheredge for his tremendous win in Johnson County, the first time a Republican has won in 50 years. John was a great candidate and will serve the residents of Johnson County well,” Spiker said. ”The Republican Party of Iowa assisted in this team effort through a direct mail campaign. I, also, enjoyed headlining at John’s recent fundraiser, and the Johnson County GOP was a joy to work with.”
