On Saturday, January 5th the Republican Party of Iowa’s State Central Committee unanimously passed a resolution condemning the forced healthcare mandate and re-affirming the rights of all Americans to choose their own health care.
WHEREAS, the Obama administration has violated the rights of the State of Iowa under the 10th Amendment to the United States Constitution by imposition of the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, and
WHEREAS, the platform of the Republican Party of Iowa contains the following language in regards to the Affordable Care Act:
“18.3 We believe that health care is a privilege, not a right, and support decreasing the role of government in health care. Additionally, we call for nullification and interposition by state and county officials and law enforcement in regards to the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).”
WHEREAS, the Republican Party of Iowa is charged with giving voice to the principles in our platform and encouraging our elected officials to act in accordance with our platform, be it
RESOLVED, that the Republican Party of Iowa opposes implementation of the Affordable Care Act along with its several components, and be it further
RESOLVED that we call upon our elected officials statewide to defend the Constitutional rights of the people of Iowa by pursuing nullification of the ACA, and by actively opposing its implementation within the state.
