Syria is currently in the midst of a civil war. The United States government has decided that the Syrian National Coalition, that is, the various groups of protesters and rebels fighting against the Syrian government, are deserving of help in this civil war. We have sent various supplies to the rebels, non-lethal supplies such as body armor, night-vision goggles, and communication equipment. This policy of aiding the rebels is one that I disagree with. The Guthrie County Republicans are holding their annual Pie Auction on Saturday September 7th at the Guthrie Center Community Center from 4 to 7 P.M. There will be a pot luck and an auction including items like home made pies and other treasures. There will be guest speakers, and possible US Senate candidates attending.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Most Americans will be familiar with this language as the Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights, which is one of the most argued about tenants of the Constitution in the the United States today. No American has ever had the problem of having soldiers quartered in his house without his consent and yet for some reason the Second Amendment is still something that is argued about today. (more…)
The Union County Central Committee meetings will be held on the first Tuesday of every month at 302 East Taylor, the Office of Tom Latham, at 6:00 P.M.
The Sac County Central Committee meetings will be held on the third Thursday of odd months at the Sac County Courthouse at 100 North West State Street at 7:00 P.M.
