Why is Boswell Still Rangel’s $53,000 Man?

NY Congressman charged; Boswell still keeping the cash

DES MOINES – Republican Party of Iowa Executive Director Jim Anderson today asked if Congressman Leonard Boswell will finally return campaign contributions from Democrat New York Congressman Charles Rangel, or if he will continue to be Rangel’s $53,000 man? 

A House subcommittee charged Rangel with multiple ethics violations yesterday. More than four months ago, Rangel was forced to step down as Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee following disclosures of his trips to the Caribbean sponsored by powerful corporate interests.

Anderson said, “Voters will remember Boswell’s misplaced loyalty to corrupt Washington politicians this November. While other Democrats donated their portion of the tainted campaign cash to charities, Leonard Boswell kept his. Will he now do what he should have done months ago and return the money? Or is Boswell still Rangel’s $53,000 man?”
