Jobs and Growth: Chet Culver Doesn’t Get It

Generational debt, zero long-term jobs aren’t progress

DES MOINES – The Republican Party of Iowa today called the Governor’s latest I-JOBS report touting temporary construction jobs more evidence that Chet Culver isn’t fit to be governor.

Iowa GOP Chairman Matt Strawn said, “Chet Culver obviously doesn’t get it. He’s saddling Iowa’s children with generational debt approaching $1.7 billion dollars, and has zero long-term jobs to show for it. That’s not leadership. That’s a reason to be fired.”

Strawn added, “Terry Branstad has solutions to spur lasting private-sector job creation and growth all across Iowa. Instead of spending money the state doesn’t have, Branstad will stand up for the small business owners and the families that depend on those local paychecks.”
