Lyon Co. Reporter: Dr. Cody Hoefert co-chairman of Republican Party of Iowa

Dr. Cody Hoefert, Rock Rapids resident, was recently elected as co-chairman of the Republican Party of Iowa. Hoefert, 36, is a chiropractor, and has been elected to this position along with chairman Jeff Kaufmann, who is from Wilton, Iowa.

Hoefert is keeping very busy with his new position. Prior to his new role, he had been serving on the Iowa GOP’s board of directors as a representative for the fourth district. “I was responsible for those 39 counties. Now, I work at a state-wide level,” Hoefert explains.

In his new role as co-chairman, he has been getting to work right away. “My responsibilities as the co-chairman of the party are numerous. We do a lot of fundraising, and we do a lot of press and media on behalf of the party. We do a lot of travelling around the state, keynoting and emceeing—just a lot of different things. Also, just to be a general spokesperson for the party across the state. That’s my primary responsibility at this time,” he noted.
