Bruce Braley Invites An Iowan To Lunch In Washington, D.C.

DES MOINES – Washington Politician, Bruce Braley, can’t get enough of Washington and apparently he believes most Iowans feel the same. Just today he announced a contest where one “lucky” Iowan will get to go to Washington, D.C. and have lunch with Braley and former Harvard Professor and liberal U.S. Senator, Elizabeth Warren.

As Politico Pro reports:

“It’s not quite a visit to the presidential launching-pad, but Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s going to grab a high-profile lunch in Washington with Iowa Democratic Rep. Bruce Braley to boost his campaign for Senate. … There’s no set date for the lunch, but Warren suggests it will be “in a few weeks” and that anyone who contributes $5 or more to Braley’s campaign will be entered into a contest for a chance to join them.”  (Kyle Cheney, Warren Planning Lunch With Iowa’s Braley, Politico Pro, 08/28/14)

“After 8 years in Washington, Bruce Braley has clearly grown more comfortable with his Capitol Hill lifestyle than our Iowa way of life,” said Republican Party of Iowa Chairman Jeff Kaufmann.  “Braley’s tone-deaf invitation to have lunch with him and a Massachusetts liberal in D.C, is further proof that he has sadly become all things Washington.”

Bruce Braley has been in Washington for 8 years and was recently in Texas for a political fundraiser where he belittled Senator Chuck Grassley for being just a farmer, with no law degree.  Additionally, during the 112th Congress, Braley skipped 75 percent of the full Veterans’ Affairs Committee hearings.
