Nunn Announces Run for Iowa Senate
Today, Representative Zach Nunn, R-Bondurant, announced his intention to seek the Republican nomination for Senate District 15. Nunn was elected to represent eastern Polk County in the Iowa House of Representatives in 2014 by a 12 percent margin. He was re-elected in 2016 by 24 percent.
“It has been an honor and privilege to serve in the Iowa House of Representatives. After many discussions with family and friends, I believe I can best help my hometown community by seeking election to the Iowa Senate,” said Nunn. “I am eager to continue serving the constituents of eastern Polk County and begin serving most of Jasper County in the Iowa Senate.”
Nunn withdrew his candidacy for the Iowa House of Representatives this morning. A special nominating convention will be held on Thursday, August 16 to fill the vacancy for Iowa Senate District 15.
“I hear from Iowa families. They’re seeking high-quality jobs, responsible government, investment in education and apprenticeship programs, and support for mental health and drug addiction,” said Nunn. “I’ve listened and accomplished a track-record of bi-partisan solutions that are helping grow our local communities.”
A decorated battlefield veteran now serving with the National Guard, Nunn operates a small business with his wife, Kelly, in Bondurant. They have 3 children.
