As the New Year Approaches, Democrats Continue Down the Same Out-of-Touch Path

(DES MOINES)—As Progress Iowa holds their annual Holiday Party tonight, Democrats are presented with an opportunity to unveil a positive agenda for the future. Instead, their vision for the country continues to leave rural Iowa behind.

Progress Iowa’s motto, proudly displayed as “RESIST. PERSIST. REPEAT,” is fitting given Representatives-elect Cindy Axne and Abby Finkenauer are headlining the event. After the election, Axne and Finkenauer quickly fell in line and quietly voted to once again make Nancy Pelosi Speaker of the House.

House Democrats have already sent more than 50 letters to executive departments and agencies in preparation for the Democrats’ promised, “subpoena cannon.” Axne and Finkenauer have no plan to positively move the country forward. Instead, the two are in lockstep with the Pelosi “resistance” plan and will stop at nothing to derail progress in Iowa. Worse yet, Axne and Finkenauer hid their support for Pelosi on the campaign trail, putting politics over Iowans.

“If Axne and Finkenauer are truly concerned with making progress in Iowa, perhaps they shouldn’t be spending the final days of 2018 rubbing elbows with presidential wannabes from the East and West coasts,” said Aaron Britt, Deputy Communications Director for the Republican Party of Iowa. “Instead they ought to get to work on a substantive plan to move our country forward.”
