RPI Statement on Recent Court Decision in House District 55

Republican Party of Iowa Chairman Jeff Kaufmann released the following statement on the recent court decision regarding the Iowa House District 55 race: "This might be surprising coming from me, but I agree with the Democrats.  In court, they identified that they lack sufficient facts for standing to challenge the contest before the House of Representatives.  The election has been certified, the court dismissed their case, it’s time to move on." ### View the motion here.

As the New Year Approaches, Democrats Continue Down the Same Out-of-Touch Path

(DES MOINES)—As Progress Iowa holds their annual Holiday Party tonight, Democrats are presented with an opportunity to unveil a positive agenda for the future. Instead, their vision for the country continues to leave rural Iowa behind. Progress Iowa’s motto, proudly displayed as “RESIST. PERSIST. REPEAT,” is fitting given Representatives-elect Cindy Axne and Abby Finkenauer are headlining the event. But now that the election is over, they have finally come clean: Axne and Finkenauer believe the best Speaker for Iowans is a liberal from California. Axne was among a handful of newly-elected Representatives to sign a letter pledging unwavering support for Pelosi. Finkenauer, who has notoriously failed to be up-front with ...

Republican Party of Iowa Co-Chairman Dr. Cody Hoefert released the following statement in response to the House Democrats’ election of a new Minority Leader: “Today, the Iowa House Democrats selected Todd Prichard as their new Minority Leader. After more than five years of lackluster leadership under Representative Smith, the Party of Des Moines now has a failed gubernatorial candidate leading their statewide effort to reclaim the House. “On Election Day, voters in every corner of the state made clear they don’t support Democrats’ empty rhetoric and government-first agenda. This is why House Democrats only represent less than a fourth of ...
