DES MOINES – Bernie Sanders proudly supports a radical socialist agenda that calls for an absolute disruption of our existing economic and political systems. Just two of these proposals, Medicare for All and The Green New Deal, have a combined estimated price tag of 125 trillion dollars. That’s $125,000,000,000,000.

• The Green New Deal alone would cost the average family $600,000. Median household income in Iowa is only about $60,000
• In his own words, Sanders has blasted reporters for saying a country is doing poorly due to breadlines: “It’s funny, sometimes American journalists talk about how bad a country is, that people are lining up for food. That is a good thing!”
• Although he’s running as a Democrat, Sanders is a self-proclaimed socialist and has filed as an Independent for his 2024 Senate reelection bid
• Sanders refuses to denounce Venezuelan Dictator Nicolás Maduro, despite reports that Venezuelans have lost an average of 24 pounds due to “failed state-led economic policies”

Before Maduro destroyed Venezuela’s economy with the cancer of socialism, the country was one of the wealthiest in South America. Sanders’ extremist agenda would bankrupt Americans and send us down Venezuela’s dark path of despair and oppression. His supporters may be lining up to watch him speak today, but they’d be standing with the rest of us in breadlines if he was elected president.
