News broke this morning that the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT) today filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) alleging that U.S. Senate candidate Theresa Greenfield illegally coordinated with Chuck Schumer’s PAC.

Greenfield, who hypocritically rails against dark money, recently added an “Important Update” page to her website containing her background and video footage that was then used in the Schumer PAC’s $1.6 million ad in a desperate attempt to promote their failing candidate.

From Greenfield's "Important Update" page:
Greenfield’s opponents have been critical of her coordination with dark money while simultaneously claiming she wants to get dark money out of politics. Michael Franken had some harsh words for Greenfield on her dark money lies and called on her to denounce the dark money group’s interference in their primary.

Not surprisingly, Greenfield has been completely silent on the accusations.

“It’s clear Theresa Greenfield is only against dark money when it’s not benefitting her," said Jeff Kaufmann, Chairman of the Republican Party of Iowa. "Greenfield owes voters an explanation, rather than hiding behind private closed doors meetings and Chuck Schumer’s dark money. Iowans deserve better than her blatant hypocrisy and lies.”
