DES MOINES - Republican Party of Iowa Chair Jeff Kaufmann and Co-Chair Linda Upmeyer released the following statement in response to the health update of Senate Majority Leader Jack Whitver:

“Senator Whitver is a dedicated and loyal leader for our state. His work in the State Senate as Majority Leader has been tremendous and is one of the main reasons why Iowa is as great as it is today," said Chairman Kaufmann. "Above all of that, he is also an amazing person who deeply cares about everyone. We are sending prayers and support his way as he goes through this."

“Having served with him, I know just how hard he works for his constituents, how much he's respected by his caucus, and how much of a priority his family is to him," said Co-Chair Linda Upmeyer. "Jack is tough and he will fight this battle with everything he has and win. We will pray for him and his family."
