For multiple election cycles, one thing has been true: the Democratic National Committee (DNC) picks losers. 

No Iowa Democrat will ever forget the heavy hand national Democrats played in tipping the scales for Theresa Greenfield, destroying grassroots activists, and effectively rendering the primary process completely useless. Without even asking Iowa voters about their feelings, the DNC is putting their support behind Abby Finkenauer. 

For years, Iowa Democrat activists have complained about the role national Democrats have played in picking Iowa candidates.

"It should surprise absolutely no one that the national Democrat party is once again bigfooting in state party politics," said Republican Party of Iowa Communications Director Kollin Crompton. "There are 251 days until the Iowa Democratic Primary, at what point do grassroots supporters of Franken, Hurst, or Muhlbauer wake up and take their party back."
