DES MOINES, Iowa -- For the second time in two weeks, Theresa Greenfield was snubbed of another key endorsement in the race for Iowa’s U.S. Senate seat. Recently, the failed real estate executive was first passed up for an endorsement from the largest small business organization in the country, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB). This time the self-proclaimed “scrappy farm kid” failed to receive the Farm Bureau endorsement.

With a strong record of standing up for Iowa farmers in the U.S. Senate, it’s no surprise Sen. Joni Ernst received the endorsement of the Iowa Farm Bureau. From working to pass the historic USMCA trade deal in the face of Democrat obstruction, being a “relentless fighter” for ethanol and the RFS, to working to expand access to things like child care and broadband in rural areas, Iowa farmers know they can trust Ernst to have their backs.

Meanwhile, Theresa Greenfield has already written off rural Iowa. She flippantly skipped a debate in Spencer, and she has failed to show up to dozens of rural counties. What’s more, she is supported by radical environmental groups whose policies would destroy our farms and fundamentally change our way of life:

• The League of Conservation Voters has embraced socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s $93 trillion anti-ag Green New Deal 

• The radical group Democracy for America specifically endorsed Greenfield because they could count on her support to “make a Green New Deal”

• Greenfield proudly accepted an endorsement from Obama, but she has yet to say whether she supports his ridiculous Waters Of The U.S. (WOTUS) rule, which regulated 97 percent of land in Iowa

• The eco-radicalism supported by Democrats backing Greenfield would put 32,000 employees that work in Iowa’s beef industry out of a job, destroy Iowa’s status as the nation’s largest fuel ethanol and biodiesel producer, and decimate the family farms that make Iowa the top hog and egg producing state in the nation

“With less than two months to Election Day, Theresa Greenfield has made it clear her priorities lie with the radical environmental groups backing her campaign, not with rural Iowans,” said Aaron Britt, Communications Director for the Republican Party of Iowa. “Greenfield’s policies would kill jobs, raise taxes, and regulate our farms into oblivion. Iowa farmers know they can’t trust two-faced Theresa.”

The Iowa Farm Bureau was created in 1918, and prides itself on working for Iowa farmers and strengthening rural communities with bureaus in all 99 counties.
