DES MOINES, Iowa -- Last week, President Trump announced his plan to provide farmers with a second round of coronavirus relief

Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats are set to release their spending bill today, and according to the Wall Street Journal, they plan to ignore the White House’s call to increase funding for the Commodity Credit Corp. (CCC) -- a program that is critical to providing farmers with this necessary relief funding.

Despite Pelosi’s blatant attempt to resist and obstruct the president’s effort to provide farmers with much-needed relief, Reps. Abby Finkenauer and Cindy Axne -- along with Democratic congressional candidates Rita Hart and J.D. Scholten -- have been completely silent, failing once again to stand up to Pelosi and leaving their constituents in the dust.

“President Trump has always had the backs of Iowa farmers, and he is yet again proving this to be true by trying to secure a second round of coronavirus relief,” said Aaron Britt, Communications Director for the Republican Party of Iowa. “Sadly, Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats like Reps. Axne and Finkenauer are once again obstructing President Trump, hurting their own constituents in the process. Agriculture is the backbone of Iowa’s economy, and as Axne and Finkenauer continue refusing to secure relief for Iowa farmers, it’s increasingly clear their priorities lie with Pelosi and the far-left, not with Iowa farmers.”
