"Iowa set a record for new businesses registered in the 2021 fiscal year, Secretary of State Paul Pate said Monday.

The Office of the Secretary of State received registrations for 33,260 new business entities — or about one new business every 16 minutes — between July 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021.

"Governor Reynolds and Republican legislators have expanded opportunity and given Iowans a chance for a better future coming out of the pandemic."
