Rita Hart recently deployed classic D.C. doublespeak to justify her support of Cory Booker and Elizabeth Warren’s bill to impose crippling regulations on Iowa farmers.

The far-left proposal would allow D.C. liberals to control family farms in the heartland -- limiting outputs, decreasing profits, and destroying the livelihoods of Iowa farmers. Despite not having the support of a single farming organization, Hart has said she “agrees with the principles” of the bill. But, after several Iowa farmers called Hart out for her support of these radical regulations, she accused her opponents of lying.

Iowans deserve a leader that will not only stand up for farmers, but also be straightforward and honest about where they stand on the issues. Hart’s misleading claims about her support of such an extreme proposal once again show she can’t be trusted to have the backs of Iowa farmers.

In contrast, Lt. Col. Mariannette Miller-Meeks is honest and vocal about her support for Iowa farmers. That is why she has already received the endorsement of over 100 agricultural leaders across Iowa’s second district, including Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig.

Bottom Line: Rita Hart is already using disgusting D.C. tactics to mislead Iowans about her stance on ag issues, and she can’t be trusted to support Iowa farmers. On the other hand, Mariannette Miller-Meeks is a proven, transparent leader that will put the needs of Iowa’s farmers at the forefront.
