DES MOINES – A recent report by WalletHub ranking state economies based on old data from 2023-2024 reveals what Iowans already know: former President Joe Biden tanked our economy. In this report, 8 out of the 10 bottom states are agricultural-heavy states — a direct reflection of the four years of failures by the Biden Administration that decimated the agricultural and energy industries.

“Joe Biden left farmers behind, plain and simple. With a focus on woke climate policies like the Green New Deal, hindering American energy production through endless red tape, and unchecked federal spending that resulted in record inflation, it’s not a surprise that we’re digging out of a hole Joe Biden made,” said Iowa GOP Chairman Jeff Kaufmann. 

The Biden Administration's key economic failures:  

• Zero Trade Deals in Four Years: Joe Biden became the first modern president to leave office without signing a single major trade deal. Agricultural states, including Iowa, rely on free and fair trade agreements, but Biden left us with nothing but empty promises.

• Record Inflation: It’s not a secret that the price of everyday necessities such as gas and groceries exploded under the Biden Administration as a result of runaway unchecked spending. Inflation crippled the middle-class while Democrats patted themselves on the backs. 

• Bureaucratic Red Tape: Biden’s bureaucracy buried Iowa farmers and manufacturers in endless red tape and costly compliance burdens. 

“While farmers struggled to get by, Joe Biden bent-the-knee to appease far-left environmental activists and expanded the federal bureaucracy instead of helping the Heartland that feeds and fuels America,” said Kaufmann.  

Despite four years of disaster under Joe Biden, Iowans have renewed hope in President Donald Trump who has promised to Make America Great Again by undoing these terrible policies. Trump has promised to unleash American energy, restore American manufacturing, slash bureaucratic red tape, sign fair trade deals, and reign in federal spending to curb inflation. 

The Heartland is finally back on the right path all thanks to President Trump.
