Republican Party of Iowa Chairman Jeff Kaufmann released the following statement in response to Gov. Reynolds' annual Condition of the State Address:

"Tonight, Gov. Reynolds showed exactly why Iowans will re-elect her in 2022: Reynolds has a bold, conservative agenda that will Keep Iowa Moving in the right direction.

"Iowa's parents woke up in 2020, and Iowa Republicans, led by Gov. Reynolds, are helping them fight back. As Gov. Reynolds laid out tonight, parents have a God-given right to make the best decisions for their children and Republicans are determined to ensure they are empowered to do what's best for their kids and families.

"Iowans are proud of the work Gov. Reynolds has accomplished this past year, and I want them to know: there is more to come. Gov. Reynolds is one of the fiercest defenders of freedom and liberty that I know. She will always fight for us - no matter what Democrats throw at her."
