Republican Party of Iowa Chairman Jeff Kaufmann released the following statement in response to Sen. Chuck Grassley announcing his campaign for re-election: 

"The road to a Republican majority runs right through Iowa. Defending this seat should be a top priority for every Iowan looking to stop Joe Biden's chaotic agenda. 

"Sen. Grassley's never-quit attitude has propelled him to be one of the most effective Senators in our state's history. Grassley is a lifelong family farmer who understands the value of hard work, community, education, and family. I want to thank him for his continued dedication to serving the people of Iowa.

"Iowans should not forget that Abby Finkenauer endorsed Joe Biden very early in his campaign, proving she will be a rubber stamp for the entire Democrat agenda. Iowans told the Iowa Poll they were not interested in Finkenauer's toxic, partisan rhetoric - with her former district overwhelmingly supporting Chuck Grassley. Iowans have fired Finkenauer once before, and I look forward to her facing swift rejection once again."
