Republican Party of Iowa Chairman Jeff Kaufmann released the following statement in response to inflation continuing at 8.3 percent from a year ago: 

"Democrats lied to Americans when they called inflation 'transitory' or 'false advertisement.' What we are seeing is a gruesome assault on the paychecks of Iowans. For every slight increase in inflation, Americans get a pay cut.

"It's time for Cindy Axne and Joe Biden to roll back their reckless spending. If they continue down this path, inflation will only continue to get worse and Iowans will pay the price."
