RELEASE: State Party Comments on 2021 Legislative Session End
Republican Party of Iowa Co-Chair Linda Upmeyer released the following statement in response to the adjournment of the Iowa Legislature.
"Republican legislators and Gov. Reynolds met the moment this legislative session. In a world that changed almost daily, Iowa Republicans focused on putting our state in a stronger position than we were in before the pandemic. Iowa now has the second-fastest recovering economy, 65,000 open jobs, overwhelming opportunity, and an environment that will allow families to thrive.
"The onslaught coming from the new administration in Washington showed us that state governments are the last line of defense and Iowa Republicans courageously pushed back against Washington's attempt to overreach into our state. Iowans value personal responsibility and their individual liberties and are ready to get their lives back. Because of the work done by Republicans, Iowans will see their taxes cut and opportunity thrive in their communities."
