DES MOINES - Iowa GOP Chairman Jeff Kaufmann released the following statement as Rep. Miller-Meeks is declared the winner in the race for IA-01 after several days of a bogus recount declared by her opponent: 

"The bogus recount of votes in the first district is finally over, with Rep. Miller-Meeks being declared the official winner. Christina Bohannan, requesting the recount, wasted roughly $20,000 of taxpayer dollars to lose yet again to Rep. Miller-Meeks. Bohannan has cemented herself as an election denier and has no place running in this district for a third time. We are proud to have Rep. Miller-Meeks representing Iowa in Washington D.C. and it's time for Republicans in Congress to get to work and fight for the American people."
