DES MOINES -- Republican Party of Iowa Chairman Jeff Kaufmann and Co-Chairman Cody Hoefert released the following statement congratulating first district GOP nominee Ashley Hinson:

“Congratulations to state Rep. Ashley Hinson for winning the first district GOP nomination,” said Chairman Kaufmann. “I look forward to working with Ashley in the coming months to flip this seat. 

“Rep. Finkenauer has spent her whole career climbing the political ladder, and it shows. She’s consistently ignored the will of Iowans to bow to Nancy Pelosi and House leadership, embodying Washington dysfunction instead of listening to her constituents when it comes to issues like the Green New Deal and government-run health care. Meanwhile, Ashley has a proven record of finding solutions and being a strong leader for northeast Iowa. It is time to send Ashley to Washington to take on The Swamp.”
