Braley first said that he was for raising the retirement age, but today he announced he opposes his own idea. DES MOINES – The Republican Party of Iowa is reminding voters that Washington liberal Bruce Braley has called for raising the Social Security retirement age. As the Cedar Rapids Gazette reports: "However, he's willing to consider all options when it comes to ensuring the program's long-term viability. … However, there aren't many options he would rule out.
