A year ago, Democrats in Washington unleashed the American "Rescue" Plan on the U.S. economy. While not much rescuing has been done, inflation has skyrocketed and Democrats continue to deny the dire result of their reckless spending habits.

Today, CNN reported that the producer price index rose 10 percent in the past 12 months. This key metric on measuring inflation rates grew even faster than many economists had predicted. Last week, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said, "We're likely to see another year in which 12-month inflation numbers remain very uncomfortably high.

"While Cindy Axne and Iowa Democrats want to tout the American Inflation Plan, Iowans know that their reckless spending is to blame for the rise in prices they are seeing," said Republican Party of Iowa Communications Director Kollin Crompton. "Democrats have tried every excuse to dodge any blame for inflation - yet even Democrat economists blame Axne's reckless spending. It's time for her to own up for her mistake."
