DES MOINES -- Last week, the Pentagon confirmed that notorious terrorist Qassem Soleimani was killed in an airstrike ordered by President Trump. Soleimani was a ruthless enemy of the United States who had killed hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians, including Americans. Most recently, he ordered the recent attack on the U.S. embassy in Baghdad, and was planning more terrorist attacks against Americans.  

Although President Trump made the world a safer place and sent a clear message of strength to our adversaries, the unhinged Left was quick to criticize his decision to take out a dangerous terrorist. 

The House Foreign Affairs Committee insinuated that President Trump is a dictator for telling Iran that the U.S. will not stand idly by if attacked. 

And Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez accused President Trump of committing a war crime for threatening Iran with more targeted strikes if they continue allowing terrorists to murder Americans and destroy American assets. 

While Rep. Axne acknowledged Soleimani was a terrorist, Rep. Finkenauer has been completely silent on the strike. Regardless, Axne, Finkenauer, Scholten, and Hart should immediately denounce this disgusting rhetoric from their far-left colleagues. 

“Today, the world is a much safer place thanks to the courage of this administration and our brave men and women in uniform,” said Jeff Kaufmann, Chairman of the Republican Party of Iowa. “At this point, Reps. Axne and Finkenauer are nothing more than disciples of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Iowans expect more from their elected officials than crazy, hate-filled rhetoric. Our country must be united against the terrorists who threaten us. If Axne and Finkenauer can’t even stand up to AOC and far-left Democrats when it comes to defeating a terrorist, they aren’t capable of effectively representing their constituents.”
