This week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced she will be running for re-election in November. With this timely announcement, Iowa Democrat Congressional candidates Cindy Axne, Liz Mathis, and Christina Boahanan should state whether they will vote for Pelosi as Speaker, should the Democrats retain their slim majority.

Axne has voted with Pelosi 100 percent of the time since Democrats took power in Washington. Axne wouldn't be where she is today without the financial support of Nancy Pelosi and her dark money groups and its clear that there are strings attached.

"Nancy Pelosi is one of the most unpopular politicians in Iowa. Iowans should know if their votes will be used to give Pelosi more power," said Republican Party of Iowa Communications Director Kollin Crompton. "Axne is desperate to stay in Congress and Mathis and Bohanan are falling behind their opponents, they'll do anything to secure Pelosi's support. Are their votes for Speaker that transactional?"
