Axne, Finkenauer, and Loebsack adjourn without passing USMCA
Iowa’s Democratic congressional delegation is completely ignoring USCMA
DES MOINES -- House Democrats have been stalling on the USMCA for months, and now Speaker Pelosi has admitted she is likely not going to make time to get this important trade agreement ratified this year.
“I’m not even sure if we came to an agreement today that it would be enough time to finish,” Pelosi said. This news comes as the House adjourns for 10 days after wasting two weeks on their sham impeachment hearings.
Ever since Iowa Democratic Reps. Cindy Axne, Abby Finkenauer, and Dave Loebsack voted to proceed with the baseless impeachment inquiry, it has been clear they would rather play Pelosi’s partisan games than stand up for their constituents.
As if this wasn’t enough of a slap in the face to Iowans, 2020 Democrats have been campaigning across the state, having the audacity to ask Iowans for their votes while refusing to talk about the USMCA. It hasn’t been brought up in any of the 5 debates that have taken place.
If Democrats really care about America’s heartland, they would drop this impeachment witch hunt and get to work on issues that matter.
“While Senator Ernst is fighting to pass the Violence Against Women Act, and Senator Grassley is working to lower prescription drug prices, Iowa’s Democratic congressional delegation is completely ignoring USCMA -- an issue important to Iowans that they alone have the ability to act on.” -- Iowa GOP Spokesman Aaron Britt
