For the second month in a row, the Biden-Axne economic agenda fell short of expectations. In May, Americans saw 20,000 construction jobs and 5,800 retail jobs lost while just 559,000 jobs were created - a number well below economists' expectations.

These unfortunate job numbers come at a time when Americans' are already pinching pennies as inflation begins to take its toll.  

Now Biden and Axne are looking to add insult to injury by adding $3 trillion in tax hikes, including raising the business tax rate to 28 percent - higher than communist China.

Thankfully, Iowans have Governor Kim Reynolds on their side. Weeks ago, Reynolds announced Iowa would end pandemic-related unemployment benefits and get Iowans back to work. Unlike the Biden Administration, Reynolds understands that businesses need workers in order to reopen and get our economy back on track. 

"Iowans are seeing just how dangerous the Democrat tax and spend agenda is to their pocketbooks," said Republican Party of Iowa Communications Director Kollin Crompton. "The Biden-Axne economic agenda has been a failure thus far, and it's only going to get worse with their new tax hikes. Iowa is coming back stronger because Governor Reynolds is fighting back against the dangerous policies being pushed in Washington."
