Iowa Democrat Party Chair Calls Border Crisis "Fake"
Iowa Democrats are showing just how oblivious they will act to protect the Biden Administration and Cindy Axne from acknowledging their policy failures.
In a tweet from this afternoon, Iowa Democrat Party Chair Ross Wilburn tweeted, "[Reynolds is] only focused on dividing and distracting Iowans from her own record and using a fake crisis to further attacks on our friends and neighbors."
In case Wilburn has fallen too hard for the White House spin, here are the numbers:
In May, there were 180,034 border crossings - a new 21-year high. This new record surpasses last months’ total of just over 178,000 border crossings.
The surge of migrants at the border is causing our facilities to be overrun.
It begs the question, does Cindy Axne agree with her own Party Chairman that the crisis at the Southern border is fake?
Wilburn's tweet came in response to a letter signed by Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds and Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee sent to Senator Chuck Grassley about the lack of transparency surrounding the transport of unaccompanied migrant children.
The letter states, "We are writing to support your continued calls for the Senate Judiciary Committee to hold an oversight hearing regarding the current border crisis. We believe this hearing should also address the Biden Administration’s failure to provide notice and transparency in their movement of unaccompanied migrant children into states.”
"Wilburn and Iowa Democrats are following the Biden Administration's playbook of putting their heads in the sand and hoping it all goes away," said Republican Party of Iowa Communications Director Kollin Crompton. "The crisis at our Southern border is real, no matter what alternative facts Iowa Democrats would like to believe."
