Republican Party of Iowa Communications Director Kollin Crompton released the following statement in response to Mike Franken filing nomination petitions for U.S. Senate: 

"The Iowa GOP extends its sympathies to candidate Franken. As they did in 2020, the Washington, D.C. and Democrat establishment has already crowned a nominee in Abby Finkenauer. From the Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee to special interest groups, nobody has shown Franken the time of day. Regardless, we're certain the ever-increasing list of losing Democrat candidates will get a bit longer after the 2022 midterm election."
