DES MOINES — Republican Party of Iowa Chairman Jeff Kaufmann issued the following statement in response to Rita Hart’s announcement:

“Rita Hart’s congressional bid means one thing — the days of her pretending to be a moderate are over. As her party continues to veer to the left, led by California liberal Nancy Pelosi and self-proclaimed socialist Bernie Sanders, Hart will be forced to embrace extremist policies like the Green New Deal and open borders. Iowans continue to reject liberal policies that will bankrupt our country and they will reject Rita Hart.”
